ASTM A 565 615 Heat Treatments

  • HT - Heat treated (for high-temperature service): 980 to 1010°C (1800 to 1850°F), quench in air or oil and double temper at min 620°C (1150°F) for 2 h min for each tempering treatment.
Air or oil quenching depends on section size; heavier sections, approximately 76.2 mm or greater, should be oil quenched. Suitable synthetic quenchants may be substituted for oil.
