ASTM A 705 S15700 Heat Treatments
- Solution annealing (A): 1040 ± 15°C (1900 ± 25°F), quenching in water.
Suggested hardening or aging treatment, or both:
RH950: 955°C (1750°F) for not less than 10 min, but not more than 1 h, cool rapidly to room temperature. Cool within 24 h to -73°C (-100 ± 10°F), hold not less than 8 h. Warm in air to room temperature. Heat to 510°C (950°F), hold 1 h, air cool.
TH1050: Alternative treatment: 760°C (1400°F) hold 90 min, cool to 15 ± 3°C (55 ± 5°F) within 1 h. Hold not less than 30 min, heat to 565°C (1050°F) hold for 90 min, air cool.
