- Annealing: heating 1550 to 1600°F for 6 hours or 1650°F for 2 hours + 1300°F for 4 hours, furnace cool 25 to 50°F per hour to 1100°F; Austenitizing temperature: 1900 to 1950°F, medium for quenching: oil, air or polymer; Recommended subcritical anneal: 1250 to 1350°F air cool;
