Heat Treatments
- Heated to 1052 °C ± 14 °C (1925 °F ± 25 °F), held at heat for 30 minutes ± 3 minutes, and quenched in oil. After heat treatment, sub-zero cooling to -68°C (-90°F), or colder for not less than 2 hours and warming in air to room temperature, after heating is optional.
- Response to heat treatment: heat to 1052°C +/-14°C, held at heat for 30 minutes +/-3 and quenched in oil. Sub-zero cool to -73°C +/-11°C, hold at that temperature for 2 hours +/-25 minutes, and warm in air to room temperature (sub-zero cool is optional after heat treatment).
