EN 10084: 2008 / Case hardening steels - Technical delivery conditions
Heat Treatments
- Carburizing: 880 to 980°C; NOTE: If steels are direct hardened, in general, a carburizing temperature of 950°C is not exceeded. For special procedures, for example under vacuum, higher temperatures (for example 1020 to 1050°C) are not unusual. Core hardening: 880 to 920°C; Case hardening: 780 to 820°C; Tempering: 150 to 200°C (as a guide, for 1 hour minimum).
- Soft annealed (+A): 650-700°C Normalized (+N): 890-920°C
