ASTM A 335 Grade P911 Heat Treatments
- Normalized in range 1040 - 1080°C (1900 - 1975°F) and tempered in range 740 - 780°C (1365 - 1435°F). Accelerated cooling from the normalizing temperature shall be permitted for section thicknesses greater than 75 mm.
It is recommended that the temperature for tempering should be at least 50°C (100°F) above the intended service temperature; consequently, the purchaser should advise the manufacturer if the service temperature is to be over 600°C (1100°F).
After weld repair, shall be heat treated at 740 - 780°C (1365 - 1435°F).
