UNI C 15 Heat Treatments
- Hot worked at 1150-900°C; Cementation at 890-930°C; Core hardened at 880-910°C; Surface hardened at 780-820°C. Quenched in water; Stress relieved at 150-200°C.
- Material is normally supplied in the hot rolled condition but subject to agreement may be supplied in one of the following conditions: Spheroidise Annealed (Spheroidised). Normalised. The H + T values shown in the mechanical properties table are obtained from an 11mm test bar hardened by water quenching from 890°C +/- 10°C after holding at temperature for at least 30 minutes, and tempered at 180°C +/- 10°C for at least 1 hour. Final Heat Treatment: Case harden at 890 - 930°C. Harden the core by water quenching from 880 - 910°C. Harden the case by water quenching from 780 - 820°C. Finally, temper at 150 - 200°C.
