PN 15 Heat Treatments

  • Hardening in water at 910ºC then Tempering in air at 150ºC.
  • Heated in the range 1100-850°C, cooled in the water, than normalized at 880-920°C, cooling in the air. Softened at 650-700°C, cooling in the air. Hardened in water or oil at 830-870°C. Carburized at 900-980°C, (carburizing temperature generally not exceed 950° C, for special technologies, for example in vacuum, apply higher carburizing temperature, e.g. 1020 to 1050°C), than cooled in 1.water or oil, 2.furnace or 3. in the air; Hardening B: 1. Core area at 880-920°C, 2.Carburized area at 780-820°C and 3.Centarline area in water or oil. Tempering 1h at 150-200°C.
