UNI 25 CrMo 4 F Heat Treatments
- The values contained in the mechanical properties table for the hardened and tempered (H+T) condition apply to cold drawn wire and to hot rolled bar and cold drawn bar, heat treated as follows: Harden by oil quenching from 860 to 880°C or water quenching from 830 to 850°C, followed by tempering at 580 to 620°C for one hour. Other values are shown in the specification for sheet, strip and seamless tubes in the hardened and tempered condition, heat treated as follows: Harden by oil quenching from 860 to 880°C or water quenching from 830 to 850°C, followed by tempering at a temperature greater than 520°C for one hour. Guideline Heat Treatments are as follows: Annealing: Heat to 680 - 720°C, hold at temperature for a minimum of 2 hours then slow cool in the furnace (approximately 50°C/hour) to 500°C or below, followed by cooling to room temperature in still air. Normalizing: Heat to 880 - 900°C, hold at temperature for a sufficient time to complete transformation, then cool in still air. Final Heat Treatment: Harden by oil quenching from 860 - 880°C, or water quenching from 830 - 850°C, followed by tempering at a temperature in the range 550 - 620°C, using the graphs of tempering temperatures versus mechanical properties contained within the specification for assistance.
