AFNOR NF 42 CD 4-M Heat Treatments
- Quenched and tempered (I);
Air or oil quenched at 960 to 930°C and tempered at 600 to 650°C;
Quenched and tempered (II);
Oil or water quenched at 860 to 930°C and tempered at 500 to 600°C;
Quenched and tempered (III);
Oil quenched at 860 to 930°C and tempered at 200 to 250°C
Structure:
- for +QT1 condition – Ferrite, pearlite and bainitic
- for +QT2 condition – Martensitic
- for +QT3 condition – Martensitic - Normalized: 870-930°C; tempered: 600-650°C.
