AFNOR NF 15 CD 4.05 Heat Treatments
- Austenitized (normalized or hardened) 900-950°C Tempered: >= 625°C
- Normalised: 900-950°C, air or water cooled.
Tempered: 650-725°C.
Mechanical characteristics are also guaranteed after the following relaxation treatment:
- temperature rise 55°C/h from 300°C
- temperature maintenance at ± 5 °C, at a value taken in the temperature range 630 - 680°C
- temperature holding time 2 min/mm up to 60 mm thickness + 0.5 min/mm above 60 mm thickness
- temperature drop 55°C/h down to 300°C then air cooling
