DIN C45 Heat Treatments
- Hardening: 820-860°C (Temperatures at the lower end of the range are generally used for water, and those at the upper end for oil quenching. Time for austenitizing as a guide: at least 30 min.);
Quenching agent: Water or oil (Other quenching agents such as synthetic quenchants may also be used.);
Tempering: 550-660°C (Time for tempering as a guide: at least 1h.);
Normalizing: 840-880°C. - Annealing: 650-700°C; Normalizing: 840-870°C; Hardening in water: 820-850°C; Hardening in oil: 830-860°C; Tempering: 540-680°C
