CSN 15 124 Heat Treatments
- Thermoforming at 1100 to 800°C.
Normalizing at 850 to 880°C, cooling in air.
Soft annealing at 710 to 730°C, cooling in furnace.
Hardening at 880 to 890°C, cooling in water or oil.
Tempering at 150 to 200°C.
Case-hardening in the gas at 900 to 910°C, cooling in air or in salt bath at 890 to 910°C and cooling in air or Case-hardening in the powder at 850 to 880°C cooling in a box or case hardening on in air. Carburizing temperature is dependent on the chemical composition of the steel, the ratio of the product and the cementation environment. If the steel is hardened directly in general - not to be exceeded the temperature of 950°C. For special procedures, e.g. under vacuum are not uncommon higher temperatures (e.g. 1020°C to 1050°C).
