PROPRIETARY CarTech 41 Alloy 熱処理
- Solution treated at 1066°C (1950°F), 4 hours, air cooled and aged at 760°C (1400°F), 16 hours, air cooled.
Solution temperatures: Gamma prime solvus temp 1071-1082°C (1960-1980°F), M6C carbide 1149°C (2100°F) and higher, M23C6 carbide 982°C (1800°F) and higher.
If fine grain size and best tensile ductility are desired, the solution treatment should be executed at 1038-1052°C (1900-1925°F), hold 4 hours at temperature, then air cool.
If the M6C carbide, normally present in this alloy, is solutioned by treating above 1149°C (2100°F), it will precipitate during cooling or aging as M23C6, a continuous grain boundary film which results in low ductility. Resolutioning - at least 982°C (1800°F) and preferably 1038°C (1900°F) - is required to restore ductility by reforming M6C.
Precipitation hardening treatment: Heat to 760°C (1400°F), hold at heat for 16 hours, then air cool.
Annealing: Lowest hardness is obtained by quenching from temperatures above the gamma prime solvus temperature 1066°C (1950°C) is usually satisfactory. In some cases it may be desirable to anneal at lower temperatures, but preferably not lower than 982°C (1800°F).
