DTD 5044 Heat Treatments
- Bars for machining and extruded sections shall be heat treated as follows:
- Solution treat by heating at 450-470°C
- Quench in water or oil
Material hat has not be subsequently stretched shall be quenched in water at temperature of not less than 85°C, or in oil.
Precipitation treat by heating at temperature of 130-140°C for not less than 12 hours.
