PROPRIETARY CarTech Pyrotool Alloy W Heat Treatments


  • Decarburization: Not subject to decarburization.

    Solution treatment: 1024°C (1875°F) for four hours, oil quench.

    Age: 843°C (1550°F) for four hours, air cool, plus 760°C (1400°F) for sixteen hours, air cool.

    Hot working: Hot worked at 1010-1177°C (1850-2150°F). Finishing should be discontinued at a temperature not lower than 1010°C (1850°F). Air cool from the hot work operation.

    Cold working: Work hardens very rapidly. Frequent anneals are required.
