PROPRIETARY CarTech 718 Alloy Heat Treatments
- Heat treatment 1 should be used to obtain the best combination of tensile properties and stress rupture properties:
1 h at 954-982°C (1750-1800°F), air cool + 8 h at 718°C (1325°F) cool 56°C/h to 621°C (100°F/h to 1150°F), hold 8 h, air cool.
Heat treatment 2 should be used to obtain the best room temperature and cryogenic tensile properties:
1-2 h at 1066°C (1950°F), air cool + 8 h at 718°C (1325°F), cool 56°C/hr to 621°C (100°F/hr to 1150°F), hold 8 h, air cool.
