VdTÜV NiCr15Fe Heat Treatments
- Soft annealing: Heated at 920°C to 1000°C, holding time for:
t ≤ 10 mm (5-15 minutes)
10 < t ≤ 25 mm (30 minutes)
25 < t ≤ 50 mm (1.5h)
50 < t ≤ 100 mm (2.5h)
100 < t ≤ 200 mm (3.5h)
Quenched in water, cooled in air or inert gas.
Solution annealing: Heated at 1080°C to 1150°C, holding time for:
t ≤ 10 mm (5-20 minutes)
10 < t ≤ 25 mm (30-60 minutes)
25 < t ≤ 50 mm (2h)
50 < t ≤ 100 mm (3h)
100 < t ≤ 200 mm (4h)
Quenched in water, cooled in air or inert gas.
The material can be cold formed and hot formed.
When heating at 1230-1030°C, at forming rate ≥ 5%, rolling, forging, pressing and bending can be used.
When heating at 1030-900°C, at forming rate < 5%, all above-mentioned processes can be used.
After cold forming with deformation rate > 15% and after hot forming renewed heat treatment is required.
This material is sensitive to sulfur above 400°C, so the surface must be carefully cleaned before welding after each heat treatment (oil and grease residues, fingerprints, color and other markings, air pollution, etc.).
