SAE 77Cu-15Ni-8Sn Heat Treatments
- Solution annealing: Heated within the range 788 to 870°C (1450 to 1600°F), held at heat for 45 to 360 minutes and water quenched in room temperature water.
Spinodal hardening: Heated to 315 to 425°C (600 to 800°F) held at heat for a total time at temperature greater than 1 hour and less than 10 hours, depending on section thickness to meet the property requirements, then air cooled or quenched (TX 02 temper). - Solution annealing: Heated within the range 788 to 870°C (1450 to 1600°F), held at heat for 45 to 360 minutes and water quenched in room temperature water.
