SAE Inconel X750 Heat Treatments
- Solution heat treatment: Heated to 982 °C ± 14°C (1800°F ± 25°F), held at heat for a time commensurate with cross-sectional thickness, and cooled at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster.
Precipitation heat treatment: Heated to 732°C ± 8°C (1350°F ± 15°F), held at heat for 8 hours ± 0.5 hour, cooled at a rate of 56°C ± 8°C (100°F ± 15°F) per hour to 621°C ± 8°C (1150°F ± 15 °F), held at 621°C ± 8°C (1150°F ± 15°F) for 8 hours ± 1 hour, and cooled in air. Instead of the 56°C (100°F) per hour cooling rate to 621°C ± 8°C (1150°F ± 15°F), the product may be furnace cooled at any rate provided the time at 621°C ± 8°C (1150°F ± 15°F) is adjusted to give a total precipitation heat treatment time of 18 hours. - Solution heat treated by heating to 982 ± 14°C (1800 ± 25°F), holding at heat for a time commensurate with cross-sectional thickness, and cooling at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster.
Precipitation heat treated by heating to 732 ± 8°C (1350 ± 15°F), holding at heat for 8 ± 0.25 hours, cooling at a rate of 56 ± 8°C (100 ± 15°F) per hour to 621 ± 8°C (1150 ± 15°F), holding at 621 ± 8°C (1150 ± 15°F) for 8 ± 0.25 hours, and air cooling.
