SAE 81.5Cu-10.3Al-5.0Ni-2.8Fe Heat Treatments


  • Quench Hardening: heat to a temperature within the range 871 to 927°C (1600 to 1700°F), hold at the selected temperature within ± 14°C (± 25°F) for not less than two hours, and quench in water.
    Temper Annealing: heat to a temperature within the range 593 to 649°C (1100 to 1200°F), hold at the selected temperature within ± 8°C (± 15°F) for not less than two hours, and cool in air to room temperature.
