SAE 2011 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Soak for 2 to 3 hours at 404°C (760 F); cool at rate of 28°C (50°F) per hour or slower to 260°C (500°F ); further cooling rate optional.
Solution heat treating temperature (for wire, rod, bar): 507-535°C (945- 995°F) , followed by an air cool and quenched.
