SAE Ti-13V-11Cr-3Al Heat Treatments
- Bars and forgings shall be solution heat treated and aged by heating to a temperature within the range 788 to 816°C (1450 to 1500°F), holding at the selected temperature within ±14°C (±25°F) for time commensurate with section thickness and the heating equipment and procedure used, and water quenched (except that sections under 12.7 mm may be air cooled) and then aged by heating to 482°C ± 8°C (900°F ± 15°F), holding at heat for 2 to 60 hours, and cooled in air to room temperature.
