SAE Ti-13.5V-11Cr-3Al Heat Treatments


  • Aged by heating to 427°C ± 6°C (800°F ± 10°F), holding at heat for 10 hours ± 0.25 hour, and cooling in air.
  • Solution heat treated by heating to a temperature within the range 760 to 816°C (1400 to 1500°F), holding at the selected temperature within ± 14°C (± 25°F) for time commensurate with thickness, and cooling at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster.
    Precipitation heat treatment by heating to 482°C ± 14 (900°F ± 25), holding at heat for not longer than 72h, and cooling in air to room temperature. Precipitation heat treatment shall precede final machining of specimens.
