IS 24345 Heat Treatments
- Solutionize at 495°C +/- 5 and quenching in water below 40°C and age at room temperature for not less than 48 hours.
- Solution treatment by heating at 500°C +/- 5, soak for sufficient time and quench in water at 40-70°C. Precipitation treatment at a temperature 160-190°C followed by cooling in air. Appropriate temperature and duration which have been found are: 160°C, 12-20h or 175°C , 9-12h or 190°C, 3-6h.
