B.S. HR 206 Heat Treatments
- Delivery condition: for a <= 3 mm (Cold rolled + solution treated + descaled) and for 3 < a <= 6 mm (Hot rolled + solution treated + descaled) treated at θ = (1150 ±10) °C / 5 min <= t <= 15 min / AC or other medium; For 6 < t < 10 mm (Hot rolled + solution treated + descaled) treated at θ = (1150 ±10) °C / AC. / <= 30min; For a > 10 mm (Hot rolled + solution treated + descaled) treated at θ = (1150 ±10) °C / AC. / <= 2h; Use condition: Solution + precipitation treated (θ = (800 ±10) °C / t = 8 h / AC).
- Material up to and including 6 mm thickness shall be heated at a temperature of 1150 +/- 10°C for 5 min to 15 min, followed by cooling in air or other suitable medium. Material over 6 mm thickness shall be heated at a temperature of 1150 +/- 10°C for the appropriate time shown below, followed by cooling in air. Precipitation treatment the material shall be heated at a temperature of 800+/-10 °C for 8h, followed by cooling in air.
