B.S. TA 6 Heat Treatments
- Annealed + descaled or bright annealed: 600°C <= θ <= 750°C / AC or FC; Continuous: θ <= 800°C.
- Batch annealing
The material shall be annealed as follows
I) Heat to temperature between 600°C and 750°C.
II) Hold at the selected temperature for a time commensurate with the thickness and the heating equipment and procedure used.
III) Cool in air or the furnace.
IV) The actual annealing temperature shall be stated on the test certificate or on the release note.
Continuous annealing
The material shall be annealed as follows.
I) Heat to a temperature not exceeding 800°C.
II) The actual annealing temperature shall be stated on the test certificate or on the release note.
