PROPRIETARY BE8159 Heat Treatments
- Annealing at 640 - 680°C (1185 - 1255°F).
Stress relieving around 650°C (1200°F).
Hardening: Austenitizing at 850 - 870°C (1560 - 1600°F), holding for 1.5 x material thickness and quenching in oil.
Tempering: slow heating to tempering temperature immediately after hardening, holding in furnace for minimum 2 h (recommended 4 - 6 h). Cooling in the furnace until the temperature have fallen below 100°C (210°F).
