CSN 15 260 Heat Treatments
- Recommended temperature for forming and heat treatment products, except for open die forgings:
Forging at 1150 to 850°C and cool slowly.
Normalizing at 850 to 890°C, air cooling.
Hardening at 820 to 860°C, cooling in oil.
Tempering at 550 to 690°C, cooling in water or at 550 to 690°C and cooling in oil.
Soft annealing at 680 to 720°C and cooling in furnace.
Recommended temperature for forming and heat treatment for open die forgings:
Forging at 1150 to 800°C.
Normalizing at 840 to 870°C.
Hardening at 820 to 850°C, cooling in oil.
Tempering at 550 to 650°C.
Soft annealing at 660 to 700°C and cool slowly.
