IS 420C Heat Treatments
- Hot forming at 1100-800°C, slow cooling.
Annealing (+A) at 750-800°C, cooling in furnace or air.
Quenching and tempering (+QT): heating at 950-1050°C, quenching in oil or air, tempering at 600-700°C. - Solution annealed at 750 to 850°C - If heat treatment is carried out in a continuous furnace, the upper part of the range specified is usually preferred, or even exceeded;
