IS 420B Heat Treatments
- Hot forming at 1100-800°C, slow cooling.
Annealing (+A) at 800-900°C, slow cooling.
Annealing (+A) at ~ 750°C, air cooling.
Quenching and tempering (+QT1): heating at 920-980°C, quenching in oil, tempering at 600-750°C. - Solution annealed at 745 to 825°C - If heat treatment is carried out in a continuous furnace, the upper part of the range specified is usually preferred, or even exceeded;
