  • Annealing:

    Heated to 843°C (1550°F), holding at heat to commensurate section, cooling rate not to exceed 28°C/h (50°F/h)

    Normalizing:

    Heated to 899°C (1650°F), holding at heat for ≥ 60 min, air colled

    Austenitizing:

    Heated to 816-843°C (1500-1550°F), holding at heat for ≥ 60 min, oil quenched

    Tempering:

    Heated to 204-649°C (400-1200°F) depending on the desired properties, holding at heat for ≥ 120 min, air cooled
