PROPRIETARY ARMCO PH 13-8 Mo Heat Treatments


  • Condition A: solution heat treated at 927°C (1700°F) ± 14°C (57°F), oil, water + polymer, or air cool below 16°C (60°F);
    Within 24 hours after solution treatment, cold treat to -73°C (-100°F). Hold at least 2 hours, air warm to room temperature. Followed by:
    Condition RH 950: precipitation hardening at 510°C (950°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 4 hours, air cooling; incorporates a refrigeration cycle after solution treatment prior to precipitation hardening at 510°C (950°F);
    Condition H 950: precipitation hardening at 510°C (950°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 4 hours, air cooling;
    Condition H 1000: precipitation hardening at 538°C (1000°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 4 hours, air cooling;
    Condition H 1025: precipitation hardening at 552°C (1025°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 4 hours, air cooling;
    Condition H 1050: precipitation hardening at 566°C (1050°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 4 hours, air cooling;
    Condition H 1100: precipitation hardening at 593°C (1100°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 4 hours, air cooling;
    Condition H 1150: precipitation hardening at 621°C (1150°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 4 hours, air cooling;
    Condition H 1150-M: precipitation hardening at 760°C (1400°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 2 hours, followed by precipitation hardening at 621°C (1150°F) ± 6°C (± 10°F) for 4 hours, air cooling.
