PROPRIETARY UGI 4550 Heat Treatments
- Forging: heating temperature between 1150°C and 1250°C and an end-of-forging temperature, preferably above 950°C are recommended. Air- or water-cooled;
Solution annealing: involves maintaining a high temperature of between 1000°C and 1100°C, followed by air cooling or water cooling;
Stabilization: treatment can be performed at between 815°C and 870°C for a minimum of 5 minutes for each mm of thickness and followed by oven cooling or air cooling (ASTM standard A182 recommendation).
