SAE 416 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Heating to 816-899°C (1500-1650°F), furnace cool to 14-28°C (25-50°F) per hour to 593°C (1100°F).
Austenitizing temperature: 954-1010°C (1750-1850°F), medium for quenching: oil, air or polymer.
Recommended subcritical anneal: 649-788°C (1200-1450°F), air cool.
