NB 40CrNi2Mo Heat Treatments
- The heat treatment, should include the following process:
- austenitizing at between 820°C and 885°C,
- quenching by immersion,
- tempering at a temperature which will produce the requisite properties, followed by still air cooling. Nominal holding temperature shall be between 590°C and 630°C for a minimum time of 4 hours.
