PROPRIETARY 102Cr6 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming: 1050 - 900°C. Quenching: Heating up to 650°C, pause, then 820°C, water. Quenching: 850°C, oil/ polymer, salt bath 500 - 550°C, salt bath 180 - 200°C. Tempering: 180 - 220°C, air. Stress relief annealing: 600 - 650°C, furnace cooling. Soft annealing: 740 - 770 °C, air. Spheroidizing (+AC): 770 - 780°C, cooling 15 - 20°C/h to 730°C, pause, 10°C/h to 600°C, then cooling 40°C/h to 300°C, then air. Recrystallization annealing: 750°C furnace cooling to 300°C, then air. Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 840°C in oil.
