PROPRIETARY Acidur 4122 Heat Treatments

  • Soft annealed by holding at a temperature in the range 750 - 850°C followed by slow cooling in air or in a furnace. Can be hardened by holding at a temperature between 980 - 1060°C followed by cooling in oil or polymer. The heat treated condition usually specified is the QT750 condition and is obtained by tempering in the temperature range 650 - 750 °C.
  • The heat treatment, which leads to the soft annealed state, consists of a holding in the Temperature range 750°C - 850°C with subsequent air cooling. The mechanical properties can be improved by a tempering in which the steel is first heated by holding at temperatures between 980°C and 1060°C. Subsequently quenching in air, in oil or polymer. The tempering temperature is dependent on the desired strength. In most cases, the state is QT750, which is achieved by annealing 650°C - 750°C with air cooling.
