VdTÜV 12CrMo9-10 Heat Treatments
- Quenching and tempering: Hardened at 900-960°C, quenched in water. For wt ≤ 80 mm cooling in air is permitted.
Tempered at 680-750°C, cooled in air.
Hot forming at 1050-600°C.
Cold forming must be carried out at a minimum of 20°C. At deformation rate > 5%, renewed heat treatment is required. - Quenching and tempering.
Hardening at 900-960°C, quenching in water or cooling in air.
Tempering 680-710°C, cooling in air.
If tempering takes place after the final annealing of the entire component, annealing at 630 to 670°C, holding time of at least 1 h, must be carried out after hardening.
