- Normalizing: 840-880°C; Quenching: 820-860°C; Quenching agent: Water or oil; Tempering: 550-660°C; Time for tempering, as a guide: 1h minimum; Time for austenitising, as a guide: 0.5h minimum. Quenching temperature (hardenability): 850 ± 5°C.
