AFCEN A 42 Heat Treatments
- Heat treatment, shall consist of normalizing which shall include austenitizing at a temperature between 850°C and 950°C, followed by air cooling.
For thicknesses greater than 80 mm, the normalizing treatment can be replaced by water quenching, from a temperature between 850°C and 950°C, followed by tempering at a temperature greater than 620°C. - Normalizing, which shall include austenitizing at 850-950°C / air cooling, or quenching in water at 850-950°C / tempering at over 600°C.
