PROPRIETARY ASP 2009 Heat Treatments

  • Soft annealing in a protective atmosphere at 850 - 900°C, hold for 3h, slow cool at 10°C/h down to 700°C, air cooling.

    Stress-relieving: Heat to 600 - 700°C for approximately 2h, slow cool down to 500°C.

Hardening in a protective atmosphere, pre-heat at 450 - 500°C and 850 - 900°C, austenitizing at a temperature suitable for chosen working hardness. Cooling down to 40-50°C.

Temper three times at 560°C. Hold at least 1h at temperature each time. Cool to room temperature (25°C) between tempers.
