ASME 1.7383 Heat Treatments
- Normalized and tempered (+NT): Austenitizing or solution annealing at 900 - 980°C, cooling in air, polymer or oil. Tempering at 670 - 770°C, cooling in air or furnace.
Normalizedand tempered (+NT) or Quenched and tempered (+QT): Austenitizing or solution annealing at 900 - 980°C, cooling in air, oil, polymer or water. Tempering at 670 - 770°C, cooling in air or furnace. - Quenching and tempering (+QT):
Quenching: 900 - 960°C, air or liquid cooling;
Tempering: 680 - 750°C, air cooling.
