ASME X12Cr13 Heat Treatments
- Hot forming at 1100 to 800°C, air cooling
Annealing (+A) at 750 to 810°C;
Quenching (+QT550) at 950 to 1010°C, air or oil cooling and Tempering at 700 to 780°C;
Quenching (+QT650) at 950 to 1010°C, air or oil cooling and Tempering at 620 to 700°C;
Temperatures of annealing, quenching and tempering shall be agreed for simulated heat-treated test pieces;
If heat treatment is carried out in a continuous furnace, the upper part of the range specified is usually preferred, or even exceeded. - Hot working (air cooling): 1100-800°C; +A - Annealing (air cooling): 745-825°C; +QT650 - Quenching (air or oil cooling): 950-1000°C; Tempering: 680-780°C.
