ASTM A 705 S11100 Heat Treatments
- Solution annealing (A): 840 ± 14°C (1545 ± 25°F), oil or water quenching, holding for min. 8 h at -73°C (-100°F), air warming. Required hold time is not mandatory if product t < 51 mm.
Suggested hardening or aging treatment, or both:
H900: 480°C (900°F), between 4 and 8 h (air, oil or water),
H950: 510°C (950°F), 8.0 h min. (air, oil or water),
H1000: 540°C (1000°F), 8.0 h min. (air, oil or water).
