ASME SA-541 Class 22B Heat Treatments
- After complete austenitization, the forgings shall be quenched in a suitable liquid medium by spraying or immersion. Quenching shall be followed by tempering at a subcritical temperature and holding at this temperature for a minimum time of 30 min/25 mm of maximum section thickness. Minimum tempering temperatures shall be 650°C (1200°F).
