PROPRIETARY MMR3 Heat Treatments

  • Annealed: Heated to 825°C; Slowly cooled.
Quenched and tempered (1): Oil quenched from 850°C; Tempered at 150°C.
Quenched and tempered (2): Water quenched from 850°C; Tempered at 575°C.
    Case hardened: Approximately at 900°C.
Hardened: 850-875°C; Oil or water quenched depending on properties required.
After case hardening and hardening, the steel is used either without tempering or with tempering carried out as needed between 140-200°C. For use, in treated condition not hardened, tempered according to characteristics desired.
