ASTM A 801 Type 2 Heat Treatments
- Has been heated to the annealing temperature and held for 4h. Typically heat treated at temperatures between 845°C and 865°C (1553°F and 1589°F). May also be heat treated at temperatures as high as 975°C (1787°F). Cooled in the same atmosphere at a rate of 100°C to 200°C (180 to 360°F) per hour until a temperature of 500°C (932°F) or lower is reached and at any rate thereafter to a temperature of at least 200°C (392°F) or lower.
