ASTM A 801 Type 1 Heat Treatments
- Has been heated to the annealing temperature and held for 4h. Heat treated at temperatures between 845°C and 865°C (1553°F and 1589°F). For some applications, annealing may be performed at temperatures as low as 715°C (1319°F). The annealing temperature should never exceed 875°C (1607°F). Cooled in the same atmosphere at a rate of 100°C to 200°C (180°F to 360°F) per hour until the temperature of 500°C (932°F) or lower is reached and at any rate thereafter to a temperature of at least 200°C (392°F) or lower.
