PROPRIETARY N 400 Heat Treatments
- Soft annealing: heat to 610 - 650°C, then slow furnace cooling, 720°C for 6 - 8 hours and slow furnace cooling, annealing 620 - 640°C for 10 - 12 hours and slow furnace cooling.
Hardening: heat to 840 - 870°C. Cooling in air, warm bath from 180 - 220°C or oil, interrupt oil cooling at approx. 150°C.
Tempering: 100 - 400°C.
